Let's just wait, with our Father.

Hey guys I hope you all had good weekends! I attended Passion City Church this past Sunday and thought I would share the message with you!
Before the birth of Jesus there was a period of 400 years where God was silent to the people. He went from talking where someone could actualy hear the voice of God to Sending the Son of God to send one BIG message! The people were waiting for God to answer... there prayers and by sending Jesus to be born was his way of doing it. Another way prayers got answered was for Zechariah and Elizabeth when an angel of God appeared and told them they were to have a child and name him John. But when the angel told this awesome news to Zechariah he doubted him and made him silent until John was born and he believed. This is what christmas is all about our prayers being answered and us waiting, being faithful while we do so. Wait, don't give up, God is by your side while you are waiting. If God has done it before, he can do it again. If God has done something in one place, he can do it in your place. If God has done it for someone else, He can do it for you!

Send me a sign.

I am not the type of person that likes to be in the spotlight.  I never looked forward to the presentation days in school.  There is a point to this fact about myself.  Last Sunday night my church held a Christmas Party for the different small groups.  It was a time of fellowship and jsut having some fun with our friends.  I do not know many people but the ones in my small group. When Drew, our youth pastor, spoke about the things that have amazed him and how our youth ministry has grown.  He gave us a time of response where we could express to everyone what God has done in our life or anything we felt to say.  A few people talked about how they were thankful for our church. Then the microphone came around to the side of the room  where I was.  To myself I was saying, "Yeah, This isnt my thing i am not going to say anything I will be alright."  But I felt a nudge at my heart telling me to get up and say what I need to say!  So next thing I know I have a microphone in my hand telling everyone about how this church has brought my family together and that is why I am thankful for this church.  I would never have thought in a million years that I would have stood up in front of everyone on Sunday night.  But I did it because I obeyed Gods guidance to do so! My advice to anyone who reads this would be listen to Gods voice.  It could come in numerous ways such as your heart skiping a beat.  I didnt say it would not require you to step out of your shell becauuse there is a possibility that it will. Just do it, step out of your comfort zone.
